Hi all, i was thinking earlier yesterday of using a spotlight to very minimally light a subject. so last night i got a tiny halogen desk lamp & the mrs and...oii u sit there for a min.
ended up taking around 120shots, mostly B & W but a few colour, this was my choice of the colour shot .. yes it is meant to be very soft, i was hand holding my 50mm 1.8 with a speed of about 1/15-1/25 ...
i darkened it all down and on the 2nd one please tell me if my gradient layer works or not :)
Thanks
Jeremy :D

You'd enjoy that way too much.

Rather than use a spotlight, might I suggest a candle, or pehaps two?

If you're using 2, keep the second one out of your image.

The first one semi works, the second of these looks too thin and pasty.

Jeremy - of the two I prefer #2 - #1 is too disassociated, whereas #2 keeps a low profile tonality :)
