train yard

went to a train yard directly underneath the Bolte bridge today. made for some nice shots. your thoughts?
used the 10-20 for all shots.

What a fabulous environment for a photographer! Good composition and nice dynamic images. Go back there again!

unfortunately i cant, its a restricted access area, was only in there because of the people i was with

HEHE ... I've done some work in that yard before! :p
They get photographers - and train nuts - coming through all the time.
Put on a high-vis vest, don't act like an idiot, and you're very unlikely to run into any trouble.

I know that location, but this must be behind fencing?? I'd LOVE to get in there with lights, and a
model!!!

Nope. The whole place is completely open. You can drive straight in from either Dynon Road (Gate K) or Footscray Road (Gate E).
They've got staff there

yeah u can drive straight in, and there were people there, but they didnt seem to care about me taking any photos. dunno what they would think about a whole lighting set up being used n stuff...

The best stuff is at the back of the main shed.
There's a whole heap of rusty old locos/carriages. Some of them would make great locations.
