Hi All,

Here is a quick image taken using the lighting kit from Poon.

Image

It was a quick snap of my youngest before he went to bed (didn't spend to much time setting the shot or background up but the lounge as the background worked pretty good).

Looking at it again it could be a little dark? I had the lights turned down to about 1/6 as it is a smallish room and they were pretty close.

I had one light off to the left with a white umbrella and one light in front and slightly to the left with the softbox on.

Camera settings were:

Body - S5pro
Lens - 50mm 1.4
ISO 100
1/125 @ f/5.0

Any C&C on the light set up would be good. Was it bad practice to create the shadow from the zebra? would there be a way to eliminate that?

Cheers,
W00DY PS: Gary, would you believe they started working fine after I spoke to you using the radio trigger? even the magic hand would not work? I'll see how they go over the weekend and let you know. For everyone else ignore the magic hand comment

Really?

I can when i go to the thread? I have just moved from SmugMug to Zenfolio so not sure if that has anything to do with it?

Mods - Any ideas?

:?: :?: :?:

EDIT - Is that any better? I think it was a setting in Zenfolio.

Your subject seems to be asleep. Perhaps your 'interest' skills need refining. :)

Every time the flash would go off he would stir and my wife was saying "if he wakes up YOUR settling him again"

I think it's a beautiful shot. I didn't even notice the shadow from the zebra until you pointed it out.

I agree - beautiful shot, and the lighting looks spot on to me.

I would be very happy with this (the shot, the lighting and the little bloke!!)

I'd noted that the stripes had gone all spotty.

Andrew,

By moving the girr-ebra closer to the baby's head - perhaps resting on the arm - that shadow could have been dealt with, but it doesn't mar the image in any way.

Exposure is good, and the light is soft as ...

As to the magic hand .... just keep it to yourself. :)
