Playing with two shots from the last harbour walk that were in my too hard pile. Decided to play with B & W on them. What do you think?

nice treatment with both....... the buildings in the background of the first I find a tad of a distraction...... maybe a slightly tighter crop, or show more buildings
maybe a slight vertical correction on the second as camera is looking up

Peter - the 2nd shot is great, not so sure about the first though. As said, the buildings in the b/g are somewhat distracting.

I like both and feel your B&W transforms are very nice indeed. Perhaps cloning out the
modern buildings in the first would add more olde-worlde charm to the image.

I like No. 2 a lot, Peter. A very nice atmosphere created.

I like the first one, but can see the point a few have made re the buidlings. What about darkening the units on right and buildings and some selective gaussian blur just to take the edge off. not sure how much you'd need to cover as just one blurry section would look a little funny,
If youre anything like me i'll spend an hour playing around and then when i reopen the original almost always prefer it with just some levels adjustment!
