techniclaly all good exposure skin tone

from the rrflection in the eye i can see the difusser and bounce card at the bottom good work

but i cant tell what sort of difusser its either a rectangle softbox or soem kind of makeshift one

id just comment on the framing of the image need more buffer space at the top crop ios too close to head for that composition

Hi Wendell,

Thanks for the comments. Two lights in this set-up plus a reflector from the below - your analysis is spot on. One is a self-made softbox approx. 30 cm on each side in size, positioned very close to the subject (just out of the frame). There is a stop difference between the lights to give more contrast to the tones.

Cheers
Alex

Alex,

Exposure, lighting, tonality and wb: all nailed.

Composition and posing .... I'd love to see perhaps a tad more eye contact, and maybe a bit more head space.

I'm not sure about the negative space on the right in this image: for me this might have been an image where portrait orientation may have been a better option, but again, this is your call, and I'm here to just throw my thoughts at you., for what they're worth.

Thanks so much for the comments, Gary.

I agree the composition is not that flash (no pun intended), I was more trying to see what I can do with my home lighting set-up, which consisted of two Nikon flashes and some self made light modifiers.

Cheers

Alex

Then you're well on the way in that regard. :)
