Here is a quick cut of a shot from today. love to get your feedback. today I tried to vary the lighting more throughout the shoot. get away from flat, lighting.

What do you think of this portrait?

I quite like it. I think the only thing distracting to me is the hand looks very rigid... though it's probably not as she has her fingers resting on her arm.. just me being nit-picky I think.

Everything else to me looks fine

I really like it - the eye contact is spot on ...
the only quibble I have is the PP you've done around the head - removing something in the background or stray hair??? Unfortunately, there is a 'smudge' or darkening where the PP took place which keeps on drawing my eye...... if you go back and clean it up, I'd love it even more

you got me, as I said, I quick edit, I normally blend PP of stray hairs. thanks for your feedback, mucho appreciatedo!

The lighting is nice and even on this one, Bruce. Apart from the rough clone job above her head Rel already pointed out, I do not have much to add.

Very nice portrait.... the only thing I'd like to see is the whitening of the teeth to match somewhere near the whites of the eyes.

To me they look a little yellow comparitively.

i think this is one of your best though tout images
framing is good and clean even the pose/expression is relaxed and clean

although i think the lightign is pretty much flat regardless of what you tried to do even if the light is on the side or at the extrreme top bounce light from surrounds can flatten dont think the lightsource has been positioned in the right place to get the atypical hollywood lighting look

you need to get looser with your experimentation and really throw away the math and technical stuff to get creative with lighting, just let go of all your conceptions and really move that light around then when you have a understanding of light you can re-introduce the math and all the technical stuff

agree, I err on safety and technical rather than experimenting. I know this, and acknoledge it, as I get bored with what I am doing somehtings... I look forward to pushing myself to experiment more.

thanks Tony, agree, it was only a quick edit, will brighten teeth when do full PP later in the week.

its really not that hard even experimentign with 1 lightsource

there is an endless anount of examples even in 1950's golden age hollywood movies the lightign concepts are simple but classic

study these scenes and the endless images of the 50's glamour and youll get an idea of lighting once you have these lighting concepts set in your mind you can perfect them with your technical knowledge but if technical gets in the way chuck it out and work on your artistic ideas even though they may yield non technial perfect results

clue 11 'o' clock position no softbox hard light no reflector try that

can we see more, i rarely see an attractive female with an eye brow piercing like mine.
