This is the other session I did on Sunday. This one I tried to convey fun and joy. Plan was to shoot outdoors full of sun and lots of green but had to dumped it cause of bad weather.

Ron - beautiful images.
My only criticism in this series would be the background in the 2nd image here. What is it? I find it distracting. Beautiful model though and great poses. Well done!

Its a red wall they have in the lounge room. I thought it would make a good contrast with the model. Can you elaborate why its distracting?

Honestly? It looks like a pair of MASSIVE lips about to eat her :) (in my mind).

Really lovely portraits, Geoff is a right the backgrounds are a little distracting. The yellow umbrella is a great prop!

Ron, great portraits, I missed the lips till Geoff pointed them out, my only tiny criticism is that your models arm is better lit than her face in the first so slightly throws the focus there. Great result.

I really like the first one in particular. Great relaxed pose and nicely lit. The falloff and shadow give it real depth.

What I suspect needs to be done here is to move the model further away from the background. This helps to darken the background (unless you're lighting it separately) and it also helps to reduce or eliminate any shadows from your subject that may fall on it if it's close by.

Ron -

#1 - the light object to the left background in this pic is the only distraction in an otherwise lovely shot.

#2 - unlike other members of the forum, who should be on some kind of pill, I love the background - but I would crop tighter on the left hand side to remove the odd angle of the ladies right arm.

#3 - Crop tighter

#4 - Beautiful tight shot - umbrella, great prop, smile lovely. The green spears through the young ladies head are a distraction.

When shooting with diverse backgrounds don’t just look at the object of the shoot, but also whats behind the subject.
