Is this too oversharpened? I used bibble to play with the colours slightly, sharpened and then resized. After the resize, I ran it through USM in the GIMP.

Any comments welcomed.

The cat looks great, but the background on the left is not quite right.

Great photo though - it's mesmerising.

Great shot. I don't think it is over sharpened. If anything the eyes look a little soft, but I think that is the reflecting in them rather than the eyes themselves.

I would actually crop the top so that left ear is the same distance from the top as the right ear from the RHS.

Otherwise, very nice.

As a matter of interest, where did you get him?

I think the correct title for this post would be "The house has a new master". Lovely capture of a very difficult subject.

He was sitting on my bed, so the background is made up of pillows and the headboard and books. I have not touched up any individual parts of the photo. It was just global changes to the whole photo.

We got him form the Lort Smith as well. Picked him out on 7th of Aug, and picked him up on the 8th (my daughters birthday - so it was good timing). He was also handed in with his brother (the other was also white and ginger). The people said that the two had been handed in at 3 weeks old and one of the carers had raised them by hand for a month or 2. He is around 3 months old.

Russell - what a gorgeous addition to your household - and I bet you made your daughter a very happy young lady

I did... I did... I saw a pussycat!
Apart form the lovely pussycat, I think it is a good picture because it is reasonably sharp around its face and is looking direct into the camera. The background is a bit loud, but not unattractive.
