Thanks to Bindii, I got to go to this event, and this is my favourite image from the day. I would appreciate any feedback etc.

A beautiful portrait....but I feel that it would benefit from more enhancement in Photoshop. The background could be blurred and smoothed and maybe darkened a tad...her skin could do with just a hint of softening and her eyes slightly brightened. The 2 white marks left of image could be cloned out. I think it has the potential to be an outstanding image! :D

Love it - my only real concern is the magenta on her chest area :)

Thank you Chris, I dont see the magenta you mean, could you let me know where on her chest it is etc?

And I forgot to say thank you to Matt K. too, I'm working on my post processing skills so hopefully I will bump the image up a notch or two.

I'm not seeing any magneta either... :)

I will remove the photo below if my attempts on a rework are not too your liking sunnylass.

Actually I was wrong about the magneta but there is a colour caste from the neck down.

The following image has had the white bits cloned out, the eyes have been lightened, blemishes removed, background blurred and the whole image run through a portrait action in PS.

Hope you like:

Chris thank you for taking the time to show me another alternative to my pic. I really appreciate that.

I think its lovely and soft, but on my monitor it looks a little washed out now.

It has a degree of de-saturation to give it a more ethereal look. I once spent a whole day photographing a model in London - approx 350 trannies later and she picked the only pic that was soft and de-saturated

Nice work Teela. Certainly looks a more intersting subject than the bathroom taps I was shooting all day...

Couldn't resist having a play though - here's your original with my version on the right.

Really nice, Teela.

Lovely exposure and sharp as..

I'll leave all the PP'ing comments to those more gifted. As the alternative versions show - you can alter this one to suit and get some really nice results. Sign of a really good shot.

I would have preferred the lass to be looking a little more toward the lens. Just MHO.

Well done.

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

Thanks Mick, I'm still on a huge learning curve with photographing humans  I have some shots where she was looking straight at the camera, but I like capturing images where the model is looking elsewhere as well.

Nice shot Teela, there is nothing wrong with your original image (maybe a little dark (on my monitor) but that is not that much too worry about.) You have done well.

Simon - I do like your processing though, could you share how you do the skin tones like that? it seems much softer without looking plastic.

Cheers.

Ooooh oooh let me guess...

noise ninja right?

:)

If i am wrong I am willing to bet that selected areas of the skin have been selected...feathered...had a gaussian blur added then the opacity reduced.. ???

Oh btw Simon... lurve the edit...
