Okay, for those that did not turn up at the Australian Bodypainting Carnivale at Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast last weekend, you missed a great turnout of models, artists and photographers.

This fellow captured the award for the best special effects body art at the Eumundi Body paint carnivale. About 6 hours of work with prosthetics and paint did the trick. Very stunning.

I think your WB is a bit off - he has a bit of a colour cast about him

Seriously, well captured - and well done to the winner. Awesome work.

These are great images. I'm curious - were they posed like this during the comp or was this after so people could take pics. #1 has wonderful detail both in the subject and in the tree they're in and is a cracker image.

Thanks Peter. After the painting and judging, we all repaired to a special area with various coloured backdrops & lighting supplied and some lovely fig trees around where we were allowed carte blanche with the very co-operative models. We had full access to the painting areas throughout the day as official photographers (those who had entered the photographic competition).

For the evening parade under spotlight, front row seats were reserved for the photographers and everything we wanted was supplied. A credit to the Eumundi Historical Association and Community groups that set it all up.

A very smooth and well set up show. Worth a go next year. Remember that this was one day after the flood rains stopped and they were working with water soluble paints. A very close thing indeed! :)

We expect to see more forum members here next year.

Striking images Colin and beautifully lit. A stroke of genius to create an environmental portrait. The contrast is superb and really enhances the image and theme.
cheers
