Oh I do like a nice pic of a man and his trumpet....
I like them all.. the shapes of the man and the trumpet realy stand out in mono.. the stair one is brilliant right up my alley...

#1 and #2 are my pick of the images you've shown here.
The lighting in #1 gives it a lot of atmosphere, and relies on shape form to present a simple but powerful image.
#2 has a different and interesting angle, and good background (floor) separation.

Awesome photos - I particularly like the 4th. The exposure seems spot on. My only suggestion would be to crop a tiny bit of the right hand side to get the trumpet in the middle and the subject a very little bit more towards the "third". This is only a minor suggestion.
I also like the lines in the first one - they add a lot of strength to the image.
