hello all,

back from athens after two weeks...
i've had the chance to shoot a friend of mine there
who is a model for her book and my portfolio.

All done very quick, just 2 hours to find a place and shoot
and i was alone with a d2xs, 85mm f1.4d, 17-35 f2.8
and an sb800 that i've used it on 3 or 4 shots of 100 we've done
(it's still very new and i don't know how to use it for best results)

Here are some of the first that i've pp'ed

i always love all of your comments.

thank you,
theodoros

I like the first one, great high key shot balanced well by the dark. Maybe a slight crop on the left but then maybe the darkness will be too strong???

Its hard to believe that silky smooth skin of #1 is the same girl as #4! The stripey blur/ brush strokes in #4 is not to my taste.

Colour-wise I'm really attracted to the line of the model's lips in the first. Despite being subtle, that colour stands out which makes for a really effective shot. I also like the second photo, there's something kind of 1970s fashion about it....

Theo - it has been a pure pleasure watching your shots change, and grow, and these are just fabulous :) Well done, I love em :)
#1 is just dreamy, I really find myself wanting to know what she is thinking !!!!
I agree that for me, the diagonal brushstrokes in the last don't really work, but I think if I ignore that, the shot is spot on.
Congrats and thank you so much for posting !!!!
hugs
Rel

I think #3 is a standout - excellent use of lower viewpoint, brilliantly exposed, beautiful model.

Even allowing for the top portion of the shot, which looks to have been PP'd rather than overexposed, this is quality. Well done. :D

#3 is just special, all composition, lighting and exposure is done to a very high standard! :D

Great shots theodorous, and a beautiful model. Number 4 is fantastic, I am not worried one way or the other about the effect used on the background, but I love the llok on your model and the atmosphere you have capyired/created.

You have something which a lot of people envy, and that's a superb creative mind. Love your blend of intimate and close crops and stylish, not over the top processing.

Theo you have a distinctive style that is like a breath of fresh air. This series has only served to reinforce my observation. :)
You have tackled this series and model's beauty with style, creative flair and integrity. You have great talent my friend. Simply beautiful.

theres drama in those shots and nice touch model looking away seems more nostalgic although i still think you should'nt add your trademark photoshopping to the images i think they are strong enough without it
looks like the shadow tones have been maniupulted too much

Wonderful work Theodoros.

Viewed separately I find these all to be shots with merit. As a collection - simply terrific.

Well done. So was your model suitably impressed?

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

The good side: She told me that if i want to move to Athens there are already three big magazines that want me to work for them.

The bad side: I'm afraid i can't move to Athens.... :( :( :(
