Headed to Canberra to check out floriade on the weekend. Was a little dissappointed, but used the opportunity to snap a few shots.

I have boosted the contrast a fair amount in these shots in PP in an attempt to bring out the colour in the flowers.

C&C is appreciated.

1) Perhaps try a slightly different crop. I personally like the color contrast that you have achieved, but I feel like there is a little bit too much background in the photo. A tighter crop would help this, perhaps offsetting the flower in the image would also be good.

2) I love this style of photo. My suggestion would be to use less depth of field, so the eye is drawn to either one flower, or one row of flowers in particular.

That's just my thoughts though. :D

If you don't mind, why were you disappointed? I was thinking of heading over sometime this week to check it out.

Why was I dissappointed? It had a bit of a travelling circus or trade show vibe to it. Lots of stalls, salespeople about (not just nursery related). Lots of buskers & rides. I expected the flower beds to be a little more artistic as well, but there was more focus on the market side of it and the flowers seemed to be no more than a backdrop.

Daniel I was a little disappointed myself was up on Sunday for a look around. I've since seen photos from higher vantage spots, and you can actually see the images created by the flowers, and some are really cool you just didn't get that feeling when looking at them from ground level. The stores and buskers did make for a carnival type atmosphere it's been 17 years since I last went so things are bound to have changed.

I prefer the #2 out of the two you have posted.
