Better late than never, the only decent shot I got on the ferry hop a while back.

I would like to see this as a b&w Dawesy.
I think it would bring out the weatered look of their face.
imo a little more bluring of the background would bring them out more also.

If you have the resolution for a massive crop from just below his left elbow and just above the beanie plus a dramatic reduction of lthe eft hand side of the image you will, IMO, have a winner. I also agree on B&W.

For me this image fails because of the nasty lighting conditions. The image is too contrasty...harsh light gives it a hard edge and robs it of fine detail Chris is right in that it may come to life with a robust crop and converted to black and white.

tight crop, B&W as others said...also may benefit from increasing the wrinckles if you can.. despite the harsh light I think this could be salvaged with a bit of work.
