Had a spotted turtle dove lay eggs in a pot plant, the possum ate 2 of the eggs, and one was left which the mother deserted...... so I put the dove egg in an old honeyeater nest, converted to b&w, and this was the result .....

Lovely shot!! The texture of the neSt and feather makes an excellent contrast with the orb of the egg.

Wasn't sure if the 'whiteness' of the egg was just too much, but there wasn't much I could do about it ....

the mother dove is still hanging around, I think she has built another nest in a more appropriate place

Lovely treatment of this image! You have held the fine detail and the egg looks fragile...as it should. Exposure is spot on! I find the top left of frame slightly weakens the composition and wonder if a tighter crop wouldn't improve it?
