I was of the understanding that putting a series of posts (Ing I, Ing II, Ing III) was now frowned upon.

Hmm... may be I missed it. I saw someone putting a series consisting of at least 11 parts not so long ago....

Thanks for pointing this out. I do not think the number of posts I've made is excessive. I am looking for critique rather than trying to show off my photos which would otherwise go under 'gallery updates'. Neither am I sharing my happy snaps from a Holiday :-)
