i was mucking around a few weeks ago when the weather was miserable, and i found this shot

focused in on the grips, 50mm f1.8 at f1.8, i thought the ferns behind it and the colours looked cool... plus the green fence on the left made a cool kind of effect.

thoughts?

also foudn this one too,

gave it a square crop, i thought the tyre looked pretty cool especially with the out of focus chain & pedal.

I'm not so sure whether I like the effect that the fence has made.... but I do like the fern one though... a touch of contrast might boost too btw.. :)

Sorry but it doesn't do anything for me.

no sweat. these photos are probably pretty objective, i love my bike, but a lot of people here i doubt would share that sentiment.

i'd be tempted to compare it to taking a photo of a pet or child!

I know how you feel, James. Hopefully I will have a 50 1.8 waiting for me at home this afternoon and my bike will be the first thing on my list to experiment on :D

Subjective.....

I do like the tyre photo more than the grip.... I think bokeh evaluation is almost the most personal judgement to be made in photography.
