Poker in a light tent

Hi folks,

Thought I'd try something different for me. I recently found my light tent, so thought I'd try my hand.

This image was taken with the 50mm 1.8, SB800 mounted on camera, SB600 wireless slave at front left, with 3x lamps (left, right & above).

Sorry about the horrendous cheap scotch, but my decent suff is still packed away.

Curious and interested in any opinions out there.

Cheers!

alan,

lighting is pretty good! however i reckon the wb is off. seems to be a bluey/green shade in the shadow of the bottle.

remove this and all should be sweet i reckon....

maybe a little more DoF to get all the chips in focus too!

I'd like to see a crisper white on the background.

The only thing I think this might destroy is the card at the back.

Other than that I like the shot and I love the concept, yeah well we all have to make do with cheaper scotch every now and then ;)

Nice concept and well executed, however, I see that there are patches in the background that are not completely white. Perhaps a better over-exposure of the background will solve it.

Thanks folks.

I didn't realise the shadow was even there, which is annoying.

I guess thats easy enough to fix in PS, but also easy to avoid by overexposing the image to start with.

Thanks for the comments.

:D

Okay, second attempt.

Moved the SB600 to front right to try and eliminate shadow, as well as lamps more to a 45 degree position. Also, in PP selected background and brightened it. Increased DOF, but front chip still slightly soft, I don't think it detracts to much. A small saturation increase to pump the colours also.

Anyone care to comment a second time?

How come the bottles still full.
Missed it the first time round but I think the second attempt is definitely better, not that I know much about it.
See you on the weekend.

Much better Alan!

I don't mind the saturation, it gives the scotch a nice warm feel to it :D

Love the colour and crispness of the second shot. The only area for improvement I could recommend is the chip at the front not being cropped at its foremost edge?

Mmmm... afternoon alcohol...

What makes you think he didnt drink the scotch, and cheated by using coloured water to refill the bottle? 8)

How about just another bottle.

Like the 2nd image better.

Much prefer bourbon though
