great to see your paying more attention to pose i think its a vital element to this sort of photography as anyone can just shoot not many can direct

lie the 3rd one although i think there shoudl of been an option where she's not cut off

and the pos n thelast one is excellent

hi dan, I like number two the best, color of the skin tones, perhaps a tad two similar to the background, the eye blends a little too much... color if the only dilike, like all else about that image!!!

first one, I dont like the dress dangling between her legs, just a little falic in shape, draws the eye away.

like your poses, somehting I have been working hard at lately.

thanks as always dan! :D

Dan Ill be honest, Most of the time I really like your stuff!
You want honest critique I'll be honest. Everyone has their own style and yours is great and unique just like Wendellts, To me as anal as I am with skintones, I believe that you should increase the yelo content of the skintone so as not to make the models look so Ghoul like.

Your photographic content is fantastic, but I must say the skintones don't grab me. Honest opinion is that most of the images would be more akin to mono processing.

Just an observation

#1 would be so much better if it was cropped like #4
#2 is my pic
#3 I dont like the crop, but I like the pose. ( no its not because I want to perv) It would look good even if she was waring a top.
#4 doesnt grab me, but I cant say why because it is a good photo

You & wendellt seem to have your lighting worked out and working well for your styles

Dan,

Usually, you tend to get plenty of replies. On Saturdays, people get busy with catching up with friends, yard work, kids, etc. I don't think the forums figure highly on things to do on Saturdays, so I'm not surprised you didn't get much replies within 12 hours on a Saturday.

But they are coming in now :D

Good things come to those who wait

cheers,

André
(and I tend not to comment on your posts as portraiture is just not something I'm good at, I leave that to others)

The dress draped between the model's legs in the first is slightly distracting, but I really like 3&4 for the poses. #2 is my favourite, due to the placement of the model and the way the skin looks next to the bold blue of the jeans. Really great image.

Damnit, I've GOT to stop taking photos of mainly an architectural type!

Hey Dan,
If you were to produce images for magazine production etc, the colourspace is CMYK not RGB like we see here. After 30 years of knowing colour, ie:skin tone, if it were for mag runs etc, yelo should be at least 5-15% over the top of magenta starting from the 1/4 tones to the 3/4 tones. Magenta is NEVER the dominant colour in skintone. Have a close look at your own skin.
This is the guide for print prodution."unquote"
You are closer to the point I was making but if you are using selective colour correction in photoshop which is the correct tool for colour correction, choose the red channel for skin correction and adjust this channel first with regard to yellow on red and then switch to the magenta channel and make your final adjustment. Always use the info pallette for your percentages.
Cheers
Jethro

1: the bit hanging below her knees spoils it for me.
2: definately my favorite but looks a little grey.
3: cutting of the front spoils it for me.
4: the haughty look works well.
