Shot this fashion editorial for Jadore Mag in New York

the story was urban punk glam
the quickest shoot i ever did in my life organised it in 1 day shot within 1.5 hours, talk about a rush job
all avalailable light mixed in with sb800 on a modified fong sphere off camera flash

I rarely comment on your work since I have nothing to say other than I admire your great talent, skill and passion for your work. Once day I hope you're rich if not famous.

Do you get any payment for jobs like this is or are they about exposure?

thankyou

fashion editorial is always done for free, and usually the tog or team produces the shoot, we fashion togs do it for exposure in a fashion mag, only a few mags lots of phogs so we all compete

building strong books with a definitive style and range is what this sort of thing is all about

the upside to this is that advertising industry people read see the mags and if they see a shoot that impresses them they will get the photographer to shoot an advertising campaign, and there lies the money

now its not the same for Vogue or Harpers for example those mags do pay the worlds top togs to shoot for them but it's no where near their standard rate

jadore mag is no where near Vogue

The front of the cars in the first one distract me a little, and looking at it for a while, the big dead space on the right doesn't do much for me either. Have you looked a squarish crop on the 1st?

You seem to have the lighting thing all worked out though in all of them

could of fixed that by recomposing so something would appear in the dead space on the right also the blue structure interferes with the hair

I disagree, I think cropping #1 would take away from the punk - grunge angle of the pic.
The blue sections up by the hair I think could be darkened a little as could the back wall against her skin, but #1 i think is my pick from these 4.

All 4 are brilliant photos

I wasn't talking about all of the blue structure ... more from the middle of the 1st full support beam you can see, just past the front of the rear car. This way the rest of the supports and structure would still be available.

I'm sure you're tired of the constant adulation (or maybe not :wink: ) but your efforts with direction and lighting are unique on this site.

Great effort, and as stubbsy inferred, you deserve to be rich and famous.

The last one is more up to your usual standard - the pose, lighting and mood. The other 3 don't have as much impact particularly the 2nd one.
