John

I sure hope you managed to get some free samples as well

That first shot is a cracker - sharp, great colors and nice composition. #2 is only just behind

#3 is very appealing too but the fragment of window at the top bothers me

#4 - I like the composition, but feel the foreground is too dark compared to the sky - maybe a grad ND in PP would make this one more appealing

Think I'll have to get a nice red out of my cellar tonight to lift my spirits now. I think I have a 1990 John Riddoch which may have to suffice.

Thanks Peter. My wife and I recently had a week in Adelaide with old friends. Their home is on the hill immediately behind the winery and it dominates the view from their lounge room. Also spent a few days at their home on Kangaroo Island (it is 28 years since I last visited) and was staggered to find fifteen wineries there as well. Some nice whites and a very good Shiraz from a place called the Bay of Shoals Winery.

Great pix, John. Like Peter, I think the last is the weakest of the series, but that is only because the others are so good.

Did you go to the Magill Estate restaurant while you were there? It is simply fantastic.

Went there once on a golf trip to Adelaide (with seven other wine connoisseurs ) - it was much better than the golf! :D

No Trevor I never got to eat in the restaurant unfortunately, next time maybe. I must admit I had almost forgotten what a lovely city Adelaide is (our kids did all of their schooling there) and how many fine suburban restaurants there are. I almost felt homesick.
