Just spent 2 days in Auckland, now in Hamilton, heading south on Monday. Here's a few snaps taken with the 10-22mm lens. What a fun lens...

I just love white against a deep blue sky! Dramatic images and well caught!

Thanks Matt, the Kiwis have some amazing architecture, all worth photographing.

Love #1 and #3 here. Both are very strong images and make great use of lines. #2 fails to grab me. Possibly because the bow of the yacht leads my eye out of the frame. That said I have tried and failed to get a decent shot in that spot because it's so cramped so I understand the difficulties there.

Funny you mention that Peter, with the 10-22mm lens it's actually hard to know what to leave out of the frame. You can almost touch the yacht and still get the whole thing in, albeit a tad distorted.

Lovely work with a great lens! I really like the angle of the first and the symmetry of the third. The second is good also, but in a sequence that features the other two, I think the additional ground-level details (people, singage, posts, trees), and the extra colours (particularly the reds) weaken it a bit. A diagonal crop (if that were possible!) of that shot two might make it fit in with the others.

Come come now, millions of Aucklanders will be offended! :)

Actually the north island is a supreme place for photography, especially Mt Ruepehu, Mt Taranaki etc. But yes, I can't wait to get to south island next week, especially Mt Cook region, Queenstown and the architecture of Christchurch.

Great use of angles and contrast. YOu are certainly enjoying that lens and all that it can do :)
