two more from when my girls were in hospital, and one awake one from today. I played a bit with setting up my flash on a tripod and pointing it at the cieling, with the flash head zoomed back as far as it would go (104mm or something) so that it would make a smaller reflection on the roof, to make pretty reflections in her eyes.

p.s. she's not a ranga, my white balance must be off a bit.

My favourite is the first image. I think the b&w really suits the shot. Nice captures all round. Congratulations :)

Nice work Dad! Lil babies are actually very difficult to photograph despite the fact they don't move around much. It can be tricky getting good skin tones. I always think window light works best....it just has a quality about it that is difficult to recreate with a flashgun. But you got a good result and you have no idea how valuable these images will be in 30 years time! :D

if only I wasn't too lazy to PP out the dried out breastmilk around her left eye...

I'll have a play with that on my next day off. She's got a nice big window in her room ... the only forseeable problem is that the sunlight bounces off a red brick wall into her room. I'll see how we go.

edit: damn, dry breastmilk is a bugger to clean off her face! bath time took a bit longer tonight!
