Matt, the second image looks interesting and abtract because of the pattern; but the second doesn't speak to me at all. However, I like the B&W in both.

I guess you mean the first image does not appeal to you. I like it for many different reasons. It reminds me of an old bible, but don't ask me why. I love the word "wax"...but don't ask me why!

The second image is graphic and has a design element but it can't hold my attention like the first. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate it.

This is the kind of work from you that fascinates me. Your eye for stuff like this is something to admire and the first of these is superb. To me I see the image and think of old lace. Weird but wonderful. Thanks for sharing these.

Sorry, what I meant is I like the second because of the pattern and that abstract quality. I cannot relate to the first one, the card box. However, the black and white treatment seems to work. Sorry for the confusion.

My only complaint about the first picture is the bottom right hand corner, great shots
