Saturday afternoon Cricket - 20/10/2007Photos taken on Canon 1d mkIIn with Canon 400mm f5.6L plus Canon 1.4x TC. Credit to my mate for getting the third photo. He was just having a play with my camera.

You know.. I really don't like cricket at all... as far as I am concerned its the most boring game invented.. *nods*...
but I do know how damn hard it is to get a shot with that little red ball in it... and you've not only done that but its in focus too... well done.. some good togging there.. ![]() The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...

You've not been to see the Modesto As play baseball, have you? ![]() On the subject of cricket ... Sydney members should stand by for an upcoming event designed to help them sharpen their sporting photography skills. g.

I am guessing the bloke in no 3 must open the bowling? Because, with a [miss] shot like that, he sure ain't no batsmen.
You should have come to our game on Sat (albeit in Sydney) and seen the look of despair of our keeper being stranded on 99 n.o, after keeping for 40 overs and then batting for 39.3! Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Kudos to your mate on that last shot. Hope he didn't give you too much grief about it

Come follow the rabbit hole...
The bat is a fair way from the body, but the look of concentration is priceless. ![]()
Those keepers, they just want to be in everything, don't they? But I have to feel sorry for him. TFF (Trevor)

nice shots opelnick.....the fellow in the 2nd image looks a bit like craig mcdermott....former fast bowler for australia.
cheers pa
What a time to give the camera to your mate.
The tounge out, focus firmly ahead, bat presented, arms askew, and ball going through the bails. Top "luck of timing" shot. Some great shots all up. What shutter speed were you using?
I'm going to take a guess and say that you are the subject of #3, that's why your mate had the camera.
Been there many a time. Think your perfectly in line with the ball, play the shot and here the death rattle. Some nice images. I can't tell if #1 has played and missed (too much bottom hand) or its come off an outside edge. #2 looks like he can play. Great captures none the less. Cheers,

I guess if the guy in No 3 was a bowler, he would have had his thigh pad on the outside of his pants

Thanks for the nice comments guys! Shutter speed was around 1/1250th to 1/1600th. The guy in number 1 wasnt a great bat but he had a good eye. The 2nd guy was a fantastic batsmen. He had all the shots in the book. And the 3rd photo was definately not me.
