Seems to be lacking something, except colour. It has plenty of that.

The second one you posted is fantastic..much better than the original one.. I'm not 100% sure about the night time version.. maybe if a little of the foreground was cropped as its not adding much to the image in the way of interest (the dark area that is)...
still going wow over the second one..

Shane - #1 wins by a long mile as it retains definition that is lost in #2. The last shot is superb except for the scratch on the lens

I'm clearly in the #1 over #2 camp here.

#2 over #1 for me

Hi Shane,
I prefer #1 to #2, even if it looks a bit like a Windows desktop background. It conveys a feeling of serenity and beauty.
I do like the night shot as well. Was that a satellite blinking across the sky?
EDIT: after looking at it for a bit longer, I reckon #3 would do better with a third of the black stuff at the bottom, and the gained space added at the top.
Cheers
Steffen.

i reckoned 1 was too light and 2 was too dark and couldn't decide between the two different pics ... so far its 50/50
the third shot was an attempt at getting a scene out of star light but it was almost totally black and when i hit it with shadows +100 to see if my aim and focus were ok [it was pitch black when i took it at F2.8 30 seconds] i liked the result of the extra noise.

No# 1 for me, the colours are great. Although I like the deeper blue of the sky in No# 2.
No# 3 would have been a perfect attempt of some stobist work to light up the old buiding.
Cheers.

#2 is the one... that misses out! It just looks under-exposed to me.
But I love #3, and I think #1 is pretty good also.

#1 seems to have more vibrant colour but #2 has a far more appealing sky... perhaps if you were to mask the sky of #2 into #1 it would make the perfect combination? That should be fairly easy to do using the channels mixer in photoshop.
