Warren - you have captured a part of Australia in a most beautiful manner. All shots tell a story and that’s what it is all about

Love the nostalgic feel to the first shot. Reminds of those older documentary books about outback australia.

Great shots. Take me back to my childhood. A seven stand shed, that would be one noisy place when in full flight.
Only thing that I would suggest is to crop the first two and get rid of the fluro lights. I can remember being in a shed with fluros! IMHO it would also give the shots more of an line pointing to the end wall.
Mal I've got a camera, it's black. I've got some lens, they are black as well.

The first photo appeals to me the most in this series. And you've done well with the lighting if my memory serves correctly as to how dark shearing sheds usually are.
I think this shot could be improved by a couple of adjustments though. As Mal mentioned, cropping the fluoros out would work well and perhaps cropping to square. I also think the blue and yellow drum in the background is distracting. Also, some desat and possibly some added grain would look great but maybe that is taking it a bit far.
JMHO.

Just tell me if i'm heading in the right direction as this is why id fly to Sydney for a CS@ workshop lol
I have squared up th image 6x6 @ 300dpi
cropped out most of the fluro's
used the healing brush to take out the drum
desaturated the image & added a little grain
Am i in the ball park ???

Hey Warren,
I think the 1st photo would work better with the square crop. But I've just had a quick play with in and think the full colour/no grain version is definitely better than what I was suggesting. The blue of the corrugated iron contrasting with the red wood/dust is much better.
Sorry for the bumsteer!
