Hi Dan, Your photography is up to your normal high standards, but in these images I think the posing is not quite appropriate. Your model seems to be carrying a little weight around the midriff and the poses do not do her any favours. Image 1 shows that but even more so on image 3, she seems to have no waist. Obviously you cant change her weight, but I think the poses could be better suited to her present size. PS just reread this and it sounded blunt, not meaning to be rude just think posing to suit her would be most attractive

The second and third shots are great!
The first shot does look wrong for her... not very flattering.
The last shot is making her face look strange. maybe a touch too much pp on that one.

i like the 2nd one nice tone and depth colours work harmoniously as well
the fill flash one against the sunset oen 3rd shot is techncially good but not that flattering looks like a front flash shot, lost the mood there
more mood in 2nd

as for pose to get someone to look taller make poses more compact, feet togehter not so much kink in the hips otherwsie shoot her more side on
think slinky

anyway one thing that is very noticable is the rapport between tog and model the expressions still looked forced she doesnt look that comfortable
new model or not first tiem working with model its still the togs job to get the girl natural otherwise youll get these forced expressions


as a third person looking at the shots its all techncially good but its unflattering because of the pose and expression
she should look ravising and desirable etc

also last shot leaning forward foreshortens model
perspective thing, i notice you do that alot
body straight for her

i also know on thes shoots things are complicated but im sure if you can pay more attention to these details it is possible

anyays all that aside congratulations famous girl from fhm ralph must be a good life shooting beautiful people

Awesome thanks guys.....i will work on the posing issue, she was a 'square' shaped girl, she had no hips at all......but thanks for the time taken to help me out

Its funny isn't it, i really thought i got the best out of her, posing wise, and was really happy with the images, also did very little PP (for me anyhow) lol..its great though i still have so much to learn

I just finished a shoot with Belinda Chapple (Ex Bardot Singer) and hopefully i corrected these issues....i need to go to Posing School....any ideas lol?

I'm actually kinda shocked that some would view this girl as to be 'carry a little weight'...

the fashion industry has a lot to answer for if you ask me..

Sue, I mean that in the sense that she is carrying some weight for the style of model she is (FHM model) and the image she is trying to project. I don't recoil from my comments but totally understand yours. I don't think anyone would call her overweight in the street, but when we have hours to look over every minute detail, one can notice other things. I seriously don't think these are the most flattering shots of her, as evidenced by the next two images.

I agree with you about the fashion industry, some of the models don't represent even a remotely healthy look. Being lean though doesn't have to be at the exclusion of being healthy

Glen - I don't think she is at all - I think it comes purely down to the photo - the first pose is extremely unflattering, and I think that is what you are seeing, not actually 'some weight' as you put it

Rel, that is a far nicer way to phrase it "she isn't lean enough for that pose". Thanks
