Was playing around with my 550EXs and my new umbrellas. (I've always been a natural-light kinda shooter, so I'm on the steep learning curve.) Set them up around the super-duper massage chair, as that meant I was SURE to have subjects for the entire time I wanted :-) I wasn't too worried about the background, just trying to learn lights.

Mostly shot my brother-in-law, who HATES having image captured, but LOVES the chair :-)

His wife liked the shots, so I guess that's what counts... (I liked 'em too, but I need to get PS-CS2 back on this machine so I can fix hotspots, etc. Using Lightroom for these.)

Hi Mickey,
Great start...I'd like to see this one in colour or a straight black and white, not sure if the sepia tone suits it.

Really like your idea of getting 'participants' in the massage chair, sneaky!

Got any with eye contact too?

Let's see some more!

Thanks Geoff, appreciated.

In about 90 minutes shooting (well, and doing Christmassy things so I didn't appear to be too focused :-)) I got ONE shot with eye contact. As I said, he's not a fan of being shot. (Which just increased my determination, of course.)

This is the colour version of the first one.

And a B&W that I'm not thrilled with. I think I've not lit it all that well for a B&W, or something.

(Strobist info: 550EX with a white shoot-through (80cm) close & low on the left (90deg from lens axis), and a 550EX into a silver umbrella (80cm) high and right, fairly close to lens axis.)
