Little jumper and the R1 kit

awesome is all i can say about it. for this shot i used the d300's tripod mode for AF. turned the sbr pilot lights on and it locked on AF immediately. BRILLIANT !
the R1 lets you get places you could never go with regular strobes and its sooooo easy to move the lighting around to dodge leaves, branches etc. this little guy was tucked into the middle of the bush, i just shoved my cam in there and positoned the sbr's, mashed the AF button and bingo....
great exposure, nice natural looking colours, very few shadows, maintained very good light fall off for the DOF unlike proper strobes sometimes and excellent sharpness you can only get from flash. this is around an 80% crop, unfortunately i couldn't get my cam closer. next time...
very happy with the R1, highly recommended for macro shooters.
