I know these are considered pests in their home regions but I just think they're the cutest things. At least this one is a native Canadian Red Squirrel and tolerated more than the much larger Black and slightly bigger Grey introduced cousins. (This guy stands around 15cm tall to the top of his head. The tail adds a bit more of course)

He twitched and jumped around so much it was impossible to get a clean shot. In the dismally dark light I couldn't get a fast enough shutter speed (without too much noise) to freeze the little blighter so he's a bit soft (literally, I'll bet!) My old 70-300G didn't help either but I made sure I kept it at a maximum of 200mm. Better glass would have helped!

Thanks Steve, Bindii and Steffen. I would have loved to have 'squirrelled' one away in my luggage but that may have stretched the friendships with my old AQIS workmates just a tad too far!
