So, a quick lesson on tadpole identification - the important bits include the shape of the fin on the tail, the configuration of the mouthparts and the shape of tadpole

This is what I love about people who are passionate about their work - they share their knowledge and treat us to "seeing more" by making us knowledgeable. You make it look easy!

I currently have a small rockpool with about 30 large tadpoles happily swimming around in it. Some now have their back legs so I guess it won't be long before they crawl out and leave. It's fascinating watching them zip about, grow, eat and hopfully eventually become croaky lil brown frogs. I will post some pics shortly.
