While in NZ last October one spot I visited was the Maori rock art site at Takiroa. I stumbled on this by accident since I had no idea the Maori had any rock art tradition. Below are a few I thought I'd share. The black ones use a mixture of charcoal and animal fat for the paint, whereas the ochre coloured ones use powdered haematite and fat.
