Jurong Bird Park - Singapore

Hi Guys,

Finally managed to find the time (and courage!) to post some of my images for your C&C. I spent Christmas in Singapore and dropped into the Jurong Bird Park to test my new D300. The D300 in general is definitely an step up from the D200 IMHO and like everything in life, it's ability to be completely customisable is both it's blessing and curse. The AF system takes a little to get used to, especially bird-in-flight shots requiring very quick AF-changes but it does deliver 80% of the time (the 20% of failures is due to operator errors at this stage.. you know.. those moments of "damn you focus drive lever.." and "oh.. so THAT'S what that setting does...").

All shots are on the D300 and Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR except for the red budgie pic which was on the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8.

Any and all C&C appreciated,

Cheers!

I really like the second, the fourth and the last. They are all pretty sharp and some good colours. Well done on posting some pics - it's scary but will only help you improve! :)

I really like the last, and think you should print it! its shows so much detail you just dont see in person.

depth of focus just a little shallow, but nicely captured

I think they're a little on the side of overexposed, but I really love that second one. I think it works as a real 'image'.

I also love the owl.

Have you thought about cropping out the OOF face under the glove?
