Babies, babies everywhere :)

Took the taddies back to their pond last night, and was lucky enough to find some metamorphs - newly emerged baby frogs, still with the remnant of the tail visible. Both of these guys were around 10mm, or 1 cm in length, so are tiny , but incredibly cute

Litoria brevipalmata (the rare one) - 10mm - taken in the field


Litoria gracilenta (same as the tadpole shot from alien) - 10mm - taken in the field


Limnodynastes peronii - striped marsh frog, very late stage tadpole (stage 43) before emergence onto land (taken in tank)


and just had a call from the 'father-in-law' -they've had a further 65mm rain, and the rare frogs are calling again It is going to be a damn good year
