Birds' eye view of the cricket

Brought the D200 to the cricket at the SCG on Sunday. Great seats for watching the game (Row P, upper deck of the Churchill Stand) but lousy for taking photos as it was up too high.
Still, I stuck on the 70-200VR & 1.7x TC and had a go. Got a couple of nice shots of some of the Aussie lads having a tonk. Had to remove the TC for the 2nd innings, and pretty much got nothing of note all night.
Saw someone in the bay across, looked like he had a Canon 400/2.8 or similar (I think, looked a bit bigger than the 300/2.
... What I wouldn't have given for a 400/2.8, and a seat on the boundary
Still, can't really complain. Got my money's worth in runs and excitement for the day.
