Landscape #1

I'm mainly a sports/portraits kind of shooter, but, I picked up a used Tokina 12-24 just a little while back so thought I'd have a go at #1 landscape cliche - sunset on a beach. :)

This is Mindle beach in Darwin, NT, Australia. I was only there for the one night but they do have bautiful sunsets, especially with the monsoonal clouds ever-present.

Ok, so, here it goes, my first ever landscape shot

I must say, I have a new-found respect to people here that do all those great sunset and sunrise shots

Like the composition The contrast of the clouds with the sky ad a lot of interest I like the exposure
Only nit pick is the square blob on the horizon.
I think it is unlike most sun sets you see over the sea in that it is darker giving it an original feel, the toning of the image is excellent if that makes sense.

I was going to point out the ship or whatever it is on the horizon as well. It's the only thing i don't like about this shot. It's really nice. I often find sunset shots aren't as sharp as this one. It's great.
