Dew on Grass, Sunrise and Macro Tubes!!

Took the opportunity the other morning when there was a fair bit of dew on the grass to try and photograph a single drop and it's reflective quality on a blade of grass. Reasonable result below.

Now.............I'm still working on getting macro right. I've managed to get the drop in focus but not the blade of grass. I've only bumped the saturation and contrast a up little and thats it. I'm not real fond of the halo around the grass and the concentric reflections in the out of focus drops. How do I fix both these issues? Would an ND filter do the trick? Any advice welcome.

Not sure whether drop is in focus though...nice concept but I don't like the flare like things either... You may need to stop down and use a flash to achieve more DOF.

Apparently I'm not the only one who sees a 'field of diamonds' instead of a dewy lawn.

Capturing the beauty of a single dew drop, sparkling like a diamond, is high on my list of priorities
when I get my macro.

After looking at your shot, it seems the trick would be to find a droplet that doesn't have anything too close behind it to be reflective.

What type of lens are you using?

Trublu;
I'm using a crappy 28-105mm F4-5.6 kit lens with 68mm of Kenko extension tube tacked on behind it. (the 36mm, 20mm and 12mm tubes all stacked together.) I might reshoot this with an ND8 filter on the front just to see if I can't get rid of some of the issues.

Those concentric rings caused by the refraction of light through the drop....the rainbows of colour, would be a Physicists delight! I'd hate to have to do the maths though!
