I took a lot of photos of this shipwreck off Stockton Beach when I was there four-wheel-driving a few months ago. When I got home I found it hard to identify the best ones. Which of these 3 do you like the most?

........ you need to straighten the horizon on all 3.....

1....... good with wave action

2....... good with the reflection in the sand

3....... good with lots of space, but I would crop out the sand at the bottom.......

Number three is the pick for me. The extra sky gives me a feeling of isolation.

hey great shots ....one thing i would have shot these landscape style....with the boat bottom left of the image, then burnt the sky

The wreck of the Sygna is a difficult subject to photograph and you've done well with these, but, like Dan, I'd have preferred this in landscape. Of the three here the third with the darker more polarised sky is my pick

I find that shooting a perfectly straight horizon like the sea makes it very tricky to get it flat - I had my camera on continuous shooting mode and took strings of shots with slight variations in angle so that at least one of them would be close to horizontal.

I think I went with the portrait orientation in the first two shots to get more of the close wave and sand detail into the shot, but I don't know why I didn't try a landscape orientation for the more zoomed out third shot. Looking at them now, I agree that the extra space in the sky of the third shot emphasises the feeling of isolation.
