Hi Heres a pano i took a few months ago, its 11 photos stitched together.

You have done a really good job stitching there. The paragliders get a little lost in the landscape though. I cant decide if they are the subject or the landscape it the subject here.

now why does this picture look familiar?

that would be North Brother Mountian and in the foreground, lovely Laurieton.

I must say, 11 images, thats pretty impressive, that would say.....cover your entire wall? I only reckon it needs a little less saturation. The hanggliders are a nice touch too....

not trying to hijack but this is an image I took earlier this year from the exact same spot! 3 images stitched...the view looking south is quite good also!

I like both, The paragliders one is way cool, only thing that detracts my attention is the road at middle right to the coast, looks to be interstecting the rightmost paraglider and looks like a rope or something.. just distracting to me..
You should have had the council remove it before you did this.. Or you could P/chop it too I guess.

I remember doing a 187MP with ~58 shots stitch, it took me half a day to complete...

Thanks for your comments keep them coming, i see you used a polerizer in your shots? its a shame that the river mouth was so muddy for you on that day or full of red weed? i did this shoot as sort of a test, i am adicted to panoramas and velvia film and i was one click away from buying a 617 camera but decided to try and get similar results with digital, the only thing that buggin me at the moment is i live in a beach town and i want to do panos of all the beaches but waves move and you cant stitch them together properly.

yeah I had it attached, not really ideal but....

The river exit was very muddy due to recent (back then) heavy rain and storms....I have quite a few other panos from this mountian - always a favorite spot - very nice and cool on the hot summer days....

panos of beaches with waves can get tricky, I have had some success by ensuring there is some definite commonality (is that a word?) between images like a land horizon - this way you can manually generate control points and get a fairly decent match.

A 617 pano camera would be very nice for those water shots, I have considered it too.

....... in my life before i retired....... I owned a 617 pano camera with a 90mm lens....... traded that on a 612 Horseman using the same lens....... at the time and the style of photography I was shooting the 612 was a better format camera.......... today you do not have restrictions of film size or image shape, just crop to suite..........

today I have a 5x4 speed graphic, a number of lens, and a 612 roll film back........... but I rather shoot digital

I havent touched my 8x10 or 5x4's (speed graphics as well) in years- probably never will. I am really tempted to go back to my 6x6 and 6x9 folders (Agfa's with Solinar's)- they were the sharpest of any print I produced. Problem is my darkroom is a shed now overrun by spiders and i cant bring myself to go in and see how much mould has claimed my enlarger lenses

I also created a 12 shot composite (not a pano but 3x4) from the weekend's trip to the snow. Nice not to have to lug all that gear around and then process it it your lounge room!

Chazman1981, if your ever up there again, and you probably will be since your in port macq. dont forget the south side, the little rainforest walk is excellent also for panos (if you can still get a break through the trees now!)

and Pa, it ain't that far you too! speaking of which, you would probably know some good spots up in the mountians for photos..ie Wingham and Ellenborough falls etc...any suggestions from a local?

wow, 35, I would love to see some pictures of up there from way back when! I am sure the area was very different back then!

It is a great area up there, the whole hastings region is awesome imho, some real great thriving and proactive communities....
