Hi Chris, I have had mine for a couple of weeks and I have only seen one other one on the road. It is a fun car to drive but I am going to have to watch out during double demerit times, it is so tempting to put the pedal to the metal.

Nice ride, i always wanted to turn one into a Drift car, or just a track car in general, look like you could make them a fair weapon.

Nice shots too, love the shots people get from a fisheye, gunna have to get my mitts on one!

Hi Glen, I have read this as well but I never really knew the BMW 2002 but I have heard it was a classic BMW of its time.

No doubt that its a hard car to drift, thats half the fun! If people can turn VN Commos into drift cars, and Nissan Cefiro's, im sure someone can do it to a Bimmer 1 series!

In it's time the 2002 was a good car with a somewhat similar philosophy to this, big engine in a small car. The 2002 was originally designed and released as a 1602, they also had a larger 1800cc 4 door car which would be today's 5 series. The US brought in emission controls which stifled the 1600cc motor so the Germans released the 2 litre motor to counter this. The 2 litre, especially in TII (fuel injected) or Turbo form was quite a car for the rest of the world with no emission controls.
