Oh one thing I noticed is that your images are in Adobe RGB, which displayed on cruddy browsers that don't support the colour gamut they will appear dull like.. luckily for me safari shows them to me in all their beauty! for posting to web, you should convert your photos to sRGB for full compatibility

They are both excellent shots Rel!.. I can't decide which of them is my favourite; although the red bellied is probably slightly ahead because of the superb dof!

I've done similar... stepped out of a side sliding door "suddenly" onto a narrow,shady courtyard garden just off a nature preserve, and... yikes! I was either barefoot or in very skimpy footwear... but I think the snake was almost more startled than I was.

Wish I'd been able to simultaneously "dance" and take a pic... now *that* would have been an interesting shot.

Rel, I like both shots. The red-bellied has much better sharpness and DOF as Sue points out, but the pose and colouration of the golden-crowned almost makes up for it. Maybe it's my tired old eyes, but these don't look as sharp as your usual photos and there seems to be a bit of noise.

I'd be looking at these down the barrel of a shotgun and from a distance, but bloody good shots and your gamer than me and afraid not an animal i like.
