It's been done many times before, and a long time ago.
Many, many, many moons ago, when I used to do weddings, I would do this sort of thing all the time. One of the favourites was to do a double exposure using a mirror, with a view of the bride holding her wedding dress up to her shoulders, but seeing her reflection wearing the wedding dress. All done in camera.
Did you do that in-camera?
