Pam and I went on a short walk this morning during a let up in the rain. It didn't last but we came across lots of wildflowers in bloom. Most are tiny. All are taken along the Charles Darwin Walk in Wentworth Falls
All taken with 105VR Camera Manual with the PUF switched on in TTL mode See EXIF for more details.

Not much in the way of identification. I am hoping the horticulturists among us can enlighten us...

A grevillea, very common along the CDW


Another Grevillea. This one is a ground hugger. It was a little way off the main track.


No idea on these last two.

There was only one of these thatwe saw on the main track, but quite a few on our back track down to the CDW


Quite a few of these. If pressed, I would call it a native violet

I love the framing of the last one. Makes me feel sad for the flower.

I really envy your place of residence. The last two images are simply amazing. Great work on balancing the pop up flash with the background.

The last one is the pick. I don't like the large twig at the bottom however.

Greg, these are appearing a little soft on my monitor. I wonder whether they have been a victim of forum resizing. [seems to affect some images more than others?] I can't see your EXIF currently as the new firefox doesn't work with the EXIF viewer.

Suren, I use FF 3.5.3 which to my knowledge is the latest version.
I use two different EXIF viewers. Both work with it.
EXIF Viewer 1.51 and
FxIF 0.3

The first gives LOTS of detail, but can get confusing to read. Right-Click and "View Image EXIF Data"
The second gives less info, but is clearer. Right-Click and choose "properties"

I got the second one when the first stopped working after FF3.5 came out, but there was an update to it a month or two ago.

Ok Greg,
#1 is Grevillea acathifolia
#2 is Grevillea laurifolia
When the two of these hybridise we get Grevillea Gaudi Chaudi, first descrbed from Weni falls I think.
#3 is a Pattersonia that has finished, they only last a day or less.
#4 and you would be correct it is a Viola species maybe sieberiana
