i have to agree and say that the last, linked image is my favourite. I am not the best critic but other than the first of this series there is something troubling me about the look of these photos, the postures dont seem to be flattering for the model. Can I ask what you were trying to achieve here?

I quite like these.

I assume these are for her portfolio? #1, #2 are very good composition, posture etc.

The last is the weakest in terms of flattery.

The roses on the road is a great idea and light, but the walk seems to be slightly un-natural.

Could I ask what you were using for lights? I can at least see single diffused source (?shoot thru umbrella or softbox)...

Thanks for leaving the message. These are intended to be portfolio shots for the model. We decided to shoot in the park and she supplied the wardrobe. I supplied the roses to mix things up and use as a prop to use on the day.

Most of the time the newer models dont know what they want for their portfolio - they just turn up with clothes/make up and expect the photographer to make them look good, which is often hard when you havent seen the model or the clothes before. I still havent done enough of these "practice" sessions to know what works and what doesnt so I appreciate the feedback from all different angles.

Im trying to tee up a beach shoot this weekend (lets hope she turns up)!

Thanks - I was using the single soft box diffuser. Natural light was getting into evening light, quite overcast. Towards the end of the shoot I had to start bumping ISO to maintain a reasonable shutter speed.

Yes its portfolio work and practise for me. The last one was an interesting idea but I didnt love the hat (plus she wasnt willing to act up enough on the sexy trenchcoat female flasher idea to pull it off)
