Of a bush rat, Rattus fuscipes Gorgeous little buggers, but smelly as hell !!! Been trapping at Mt Tamborine (Hi Geoff ). I've been trying to get a photo of one of these guys for years - literally - but they are really jumpy, and HATE the sound of the shutter going off, and as for the flash !! For the first time ever, we had a bush rat that actually sat on the log when we let it go, and just watched me - let me take shots, let me CHIMP shots !!!! It almost seemed to pose, and then was gone

Hi Rel nice captures. Everything works so well, composition, exposure, sharpness. The only problem I have is the subject matter, it's vermin!

after having the displeasure of watching that movie, i have to agree.

These are great shots, that first one is something you expect out of a wildlife magazine etc...that paw placement is spot on

AND..its all the more amazing that it is in the wild!

Thanks for the feedback - you are probably right about the warmth/wb in the first, but I can't tell on this monitor. Still on the borrowed laptop, which has a strange blue hue to the screen I just can't figure out ... as soon as my poor old lappy gets fixed I'll be able to fix it all up
Was soooooo lucky that this little one actually sat - like I said, this has never happened for me before with a bush rat, melomys yes, but fuscipes no way in hell This little one must have been in either a really good mood, or was too scared to move. Judging by the behaviour of all of it's bretheren that we've dealt with over the years, I'm guessing good mood
