Good shots Sean, I like your BW conversions.

The first shot is my favourite, there are all sorts of stories which could be drawn from it, the setup is good, I like it a lot.

Number two is good too, but I think for a portrait it could be a bit tighter on the subjects. Also, they look a bit unhappy.

Sean - #1 is excellent composing and the B&W adds to the depth of emotion shown.

#2 - yes a tighter crop would improve the composition but I must admit I like the fact they are not smiling - deep thought

Love that first shot, what a great spot for a portrait like that... The B&W treatment works well too, nice capture and nice PP...

I think both are terrific and i reckon dad and daughter would be well pleased with those results.

Love that first shot as well. Nice expressions & poses which have a nice character & charm to them. Great soft lighting for exposure of the face as well as adding a little bit of rim light from behind & to (their) right to delineate them from the shadows (esp. the father). Great PP as well to capture the tones in the scene.
Second shot doesn't quite do it for me. The rocks are too sharp compared to the subjects and don't overlay well. I guess its a hazard of long exposure, but it makes them look less in focus and more superimposed than part of the scene to me. Not sure I like the pose/expressions as much either.
