Well I managed to get out again to photograph the Gold Coast from behind. Dave watched the four kids in the dark with bats flying around and spent most of the time trying to keep them out of trouble while I had a little bliss time to relax and take some photos.
There were quite a lot of little boats flying around which ruined quite a few photos by impacting the reflections on the water etc.
However, I am happy to say there is one that I love, and two more that aren't too bad in my opinion.

Good work again Kirsten. I agree the first is the better of the three in terms of the reflections and the lighter sky. I do however prefer the composition of the last. The inclusion of Q1 adding height on the RHS of frame and losing the darker area of trees/bushes on the LHS.

Yeah I liked the bottom for the same composition reasons, however I moved to that spot in the last 10 minutes before leaving so its one of those "if only" moments where I wish I had have moved around earlier before darkness had fully set in.

I did take a wider view from the first location which included the q1 in it. However, once the sun had set the darkness between the Q1 and the rest of the taller buildings was too large. Which is why I had cropped it in.

This is the earlier shot as the sun was setting. sadly no real colour in the sky but the reflections of the sun on the glass of the buildings warm the image a little.

1 & 3 for me. The first one has a little more light and that makes the difference, though 3 has better colour reflections. The fourth is also good, but not quite like the first three.
