It's all Gary Stark's fault, that is, continually adding new lens to the arsenal of photographic equipment that sits in my study. If it wasn't for DSLRusers, I most probably now would be playing golf or fishing or collecting butterflies...

I have added the tiny Sigma 105mm F1.4 to my collection. (Coming in at 3.6lbs it is a lens and gym membership all in one). First day out with it yesterday and it's always handy to have some cute grandkids to help out with posing.

We all know that no club that has you as a member would be worthwhile joining.

But that's bloody nice imaging from the 105mm Coke bottle.

Gary it's almost impossible to take a bad photo with this lens. T'would be interesting to see how it goes in astrophotography. I understand that normally you need a lens very wide and fast but because of the sheer amount of glass inside, it might be viable. Just not in Coffs Harbour where humidity destroys any chance of night good night sky vision.

It's like the cream machine, the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4.

Good glass is good glass, and while the glass may be good (or even great) it's still the person behind the camera that makes the image.

This reminds me of a supposedly real story. A famous New York photographer was invited to a dinner party and as he came into the house the host said to him "I love your photos.You must have a very good camera". The dinner went on and on leaving the photographer said to the host "I loved you food. You must have a very good cooker".

Haha I get asked this all the time. What sort of camera do you shoot with? Must be an expensive one....
