I'm guessing this is the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC (not having been there myself). It looks very impressive.

Other photos I have seen have been fairly orange - did you preset WB?

I think this works well. As i see it, the people in the foreground are indicative of the movement and progress of change whereas old Abe is watching quietly as the activity happens around him, content that it is partly to do with him.....

Well done.

Of course old Abe was responsible for one of the most famous 'Famous Last Words', when he said, 'I'm bored with sitting around at home, let's go catch a show.'

Yes, it's Lincoln's Memorial and it is quite impressive to see in person. Photos never really give you the full impact.

WB was a preset for tungsten lighting, IIRC.

Viewing the monuments in DC is a cool thing to do, if you ever get to the east coast of the US of A. They're a lot bigger than most people imagine and it's almost impossible to get a feel for them in photos. The photo doesn't give you a good scale of the statue, because the people are probably about 100ft in front of the statue.

I think you're correct here, DC is a wonderful place to visit, the monuments and buildings are massive, there is so much to see and do, I spent one day there with a little Canon APS camera, wish I had had something decent that day to photograph with, nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
